Nature’s Way Alive! MaxDaily (no Added Iron) is a pretty packed multivitamin. It is claimed to have 22 vitamins and minerals, 12 digestive enzymes, 14 greens and 12 organically grown mushrooms within it as well as you can find some other claims. But nothing too much [R].

In this Nature’s Way Alive! MaxDaily (no Added Iron) review we’ll take a pretty in-depth look at what this supplement is all about, are its ingredients any good and is it actually worth considering.

Vitamins Are Pretty Diverse, Amounts – Quite Solid As Well

Nature’s Way Alive! MaxDaily (No Iron) has all of the vitamins needed: Vitamin A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, B12, C, D, E, K1 and Choline. And there is a great abundance among the vitamin amounts. The only ones really lacking in this regard are Choline and partly Vitamin A.

Overall Assessment of Vitamins for the Nature's Way Alive! Max6 Daily (No Added Iron)Partly Vitamin A, because there are two forms of it that are both needed in your diet: retinoids and carotenoids. Both of these forms come with unique characteristics and benefits (some of which overlap, but still). Therefore, both are extremely important [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

Retinoid form in Nature’s Way Alive! MaxDaily is all good. But carotenoids are somewhat flawed. There are only two forms of those (Beta-Carotene and Lutein). And their combined amounts are also a little bit short, but quite decent (see Prime Daily Values) [R, R].

Vitamin B1 is in one of the two most common forms of this vitamin in multivitamin supplements. Some do claim that this form is fat-soluble and can do more harm than good, if consumed [R, R, R]. This is, however, completely false in according to more credible sources [R, R, R, R, R].

In fact, there is a form of Vitamin B1 called Benfotiamine, which paradoxically is fat-soluble. Furthermore, it is also by far the most beneficial form of this vitamin [R, R, R].

Vitamin B2, B3, B5, Band K all come in the most desirable forms for consumption. Also, amounts for these vitamins are relevant. Basically, there at their best shape [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

Also, Vitamin B6 is in great shape. It comes in two forms, one of which is the best and most effective form for consumption [R, R, R, R].

Vitamin B9, on the other hand, is not in the best form possible. Neither is also the amounts of it sufficient [R, R, R, R].

Vitamin B12 overall is in pretty okay shape, although a different form and bigger amounts would be desirable [R, R, R, R].

Quite a bit better situation is with Vitamin C. Although it is not in it’s the best form, it is, however, in the amounts that are highly desirable according to Prime Daily Values. Furthermore, the synthetic form of this vitamin has been proven to be as effective as the natural one [R, R, R, R].

Ergocalciferol, also known as Vitamin D2, is the weaker option of Vitamin D. Vitamin D3 is the more desirable version of Vitamin D (it is the same form our bodies produce from sunlight) [R, R, R].

Vitamin E would be in great shape if only one form of it existed. There, however, are 8 various forms of this vitamin. All of them play a different and important role in the body. So having only one form is not really sufficient [R, R, R, R, R].

Choline is a very beneficial substance for higher performance of the mind (better memory, faster learning, better focus, etc.) [R, R, R]. But this particular form of Choline is not the best one. However, its consumption still should account for some small cognitive enhancement (the amounts of it are pretty low) [R]

Minerals Work In Most Part

Nature’s Way Alive! MaxDaily contains Calcium, Iodine, Magnesium, Zinc, Selenium, Copper, Manganese, Molybdenum, and Potassium. Therefore, it essentially contains all but three minerals.

Overall Assessment of Minerals for the Nature's Way Alive! Max6 Daily (No Added Iron)Most of the minerals present are available in the best forms and amounts.

Calcium is present in two forms. One of these forms is the weakest form of Calcium out there. The other, however, although, also is not the best out there, is exactly the form recommended by health professionals [R, R, R].

Iodine is present in two forms. One of these forms is quite okay effectiveness wise (bioavailability wise), the other – is the best form possible [R, R, R, R, R]. Similarly, also it is with Magnesium. One of the two forms is the weakest possible, the other – quite the opposite – one of the best forms out there [R, R, R, R].

As goes for Zinc, it comes in one of the best forms possible [R, R, R]. And Selenium is present in what’s considered the best form for consumption [R, R, R].

Copper. Well, I have to admit – the resources are a little bit tight-fisted on the particular form of Copper. But from what I gather, it should be among the best forms for intake [R, R, R].

Manganese in a form of chelate is the best choice [R, R]. Contrary to Manganese, Molybdenum is in quite the average form. There are many better choices [R, R].

Potassium’s form does not generally matter, because its every form is absorbed really well [R]. Worth noting is that one should never supplement more than 100 mg of Potassium daily (undergoing special treatment under doctor’s supervision might be the only exception). This is because – it is more than likely that all Potassium-needs are met through diet [R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

Beneficial Substances Are Beyond I’ve Ever Seen

Nature’s Way Alive! MaxDaily is a very abundant multivitamin in terms of other beneficial substances (similarly to  Rainbow Light Men’s One). Within it, you’ll find the following substances: Citrus Bioflavonoid Complex, Inositol, Siberian Eleuthero and Rutin. It also includes the following blends: Daily Greens Blend, Orchard Fruits/Garden Veggies Blend, Cardio Blend, Digestive Enzyme Blend, Omega 3/6/9 Fatty Acid Seed Blend and Organic Mushroom Mycelium Defense Blend.

Obviously, there is a lot to be talked about when addressing these blends as there are quite many ingredients within those. Nevertheless, I’ll try to keep it short and just give you the highlights.

Citrus Bioflavonoids is a pretty cool substance naturally found in most vegetables and fruits. This substance basically boosts all antioxidative capabilities of the body. Therefore, it is in essence quite like Vitamin C – it helps to fight off the bad stuff endangering our bodies [R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

Nonetheless, it also has some other great benefits, which include the ability to avert depressive behavior and memory impairment. [R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

Inositol is a substance that improves brain function, helps to cure depression, panic attacks, anxieties, diminishes mood swings, helps to cure various with brain function related diseases and has other benefits [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R]. Amount wise – it is exactly the amount needed.

Siberian Eleuthero (also known as Siberian Ginseng) is a much-studied herb, which possesses a variety of unique organic compounds within it. Thus, having awesome health benefits (but must not be given to children). It is an incredible energy booster, memory and recall enhancer, provides antioxidant protection, improves focus and alertness, strengthens bones, improves sleep quality and immune systems function, relieves stress and has loads of other benefits [R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

Sophora japonica is a tree of traditional Chinese medicine. Rutin is one of the flavonoids found within flower buds of Sophora japonica [R, R].

Rutin is known to improve the health of blood vessels, which can improve overall health. Rutin may prevent heart attacks, stroke, and thrombosis. Rutin also possesses anti-inflammatory and antioxidant qualities, as well as lowers “bad” cholesterol levels [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

Now, let’s jump to the blends. And I have to admit…

All of these blends are pretty incredible in my opinion.

Daily Greens Blend is something truly amazing. It is a blend of amino acids derived from various herbs. Taking into account the ingredients of this blend, it provides with the following amino acids: all 9 essential amino acids (Tryptophan, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Threonine, Valine, Leucine, Isoleucine, Lysine, Histidine), as well as Alanine, Arginine, Aspartic Acid, Cystine, Glutamic Acid, Glycine, Proline, Serine, Glutamine, Asparagine and Tyrosine [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

For those of you, who do not know or just remotely have heard about amino acids – amino acids are organic compounds that our bodies can’t function without. Essentially, they are the building blocks of life, because every biochemical reaction performed by the body or brain is in one way or another connected with an action of amino acid [R, R, R, R].

Therefore, it is actually stupid, how good this is to not only acquire amino acids from food, but also from a multivitamin supplement.

Orchard Fruits/Garden Veggies Blend is the blend, which provides you primarily with loads of carbohydrates (that includes great amounts of dietary fiber) [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

There are many benefits that come with consuming high amounts of dietary fiber. Dietary fiber helps to control blood sugar levels, promotes weight loss, improves skin health, lowers the risk of heart disease, reduce various type cancer risk, helps to eliminate toxins from the body, benefits gut bacteria, which helps to absorb nutrients, improves immunity and has other benefits [R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

Cardio Blend consists of 3 powerful ingredients, all of which will improve your overall heart health. This I believe is the main purpose of this blend, which is also indicated by the name of the blend [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

However, this blend won’t only provide you with better overall heart health. It also has the power to increase energy, lower “bad” cholesterol levels, normalize blood pressure, reduce anxiety, increase alertness, cure chest pain, normalise blood sugar levels, positively affect cognitive disorders, improve digestive processes, reduce inflammation, promote anti-aging, protect brain, ease joint pain, combat obesity, fights oxidative stress, as well as many other benefits [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

Digestive Enzyme Blend is also pretty straight forward. It contains substances that will help your body to better digest and absorb (and therefore also benefit from) everything you’re consuming (including everything in the multivitamin supplement itself). Furthermore, it also has the power to just in general heavily improve the digestive health and well-being [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

Omega 3/6/9 Fatty Acid Seed Blend is a blend made out of Flax and Sunflower seed powder. Although this won’t cut it in terms of omega-3’s needed daily (this provides with ALA, but no DHA or EHA), this blend still possibly can provide with certain health benefits. Such benefits are: amazing nutritional value, great amino acid content, improvement of obesity, reducing of cholesterol levels, providing with amazing antioxidative benefits, improving digestive health, helping with blood sugar levels, improving skin and hair health and having other benefits [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

For more information on the necessary omega-3’s and to better understand, why this blend certainly won’t cut it in that regard, stay tuned for a future article.

The last beneficial substance left to talk about is Organic Mushroom Mycelium Defense Blend. And this blend is really like a body’s defensive system boosting powerhouse. The mushrooms within this blend are known to help with inflammation, infections, liver disease, skin disorders, cancer, fatigue, autoimmune and sleep disorders, heart disease, diabetes (normalise blood sugar levels), anxiety and depression, all kinds of digestive problems, food allergies, poisoning, they also help to control blood pressure and cholesterol levels, boost energy and brain function, fight obesity and anemia, have anti-bacterial capabilities, improve digestion, protect DNA and have other benefits [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

All in all, these beneficial substances in Nature’s Way Alive! MaxDaily are pretty damn impressive.

Furthermore, many of the various blend contents contain many various vitamins and minerals. These slightly make up for the lacklusters identified beforehand (when we took a look at vitamins and minerals).

Additives Overall Should Not Cause Any Unpleasantries

Nature’s Way Alive! MaxDaily has only 3 additives. All of which are harmless and therefore safe to intake.

Modified Cellulose. Although there are like 15 variations of cellulose that can be referred to as “modified”, cellulose (generally speaking) does not have particularly serious side effects, if any. For any side effects to happen, one should consume huge amounts of the substance. But this, in reality, is quite impossible to do [R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

Of course, as with any substance, serious side effects may be encountered, if one has an allergy. Which (by the way) is extremely rare. Cellulose as of itself is one of the most abundant substances on Earth as all plant-like structures contain it. Having an allergy would basically mean that one can not consume any plants [R, R, R].

Regarding Vegetable Magnesium Stearate there are many resources claiming it to be a harmful and avoidable additive [R, R, R, R, R, R, R]. But this is not the real objective truth.

Only when you actually take apart everything thrown at Magnesium Stearate, can you then join the minority of professionals to realize that it is harmless. Furthermore, there is really no chance that you should ever encounter any adverse effects just by using supplements. Because to do that, you would have to consume thousands of pills a day [R, R, R, R, R].

But then again which substance in crazy big amounts is good for you? Think about it… Even the water isn’t.

Silica (also known as Silicon Dioxide) is a substance naturally found in plants, animals, earth, water, and our bodies. Also, studies have shown it to be a safe additive [R, R, R, R].

While There Are Flaws, The Supplement’s Very Worthwhile

Nature’s Way Alive! MaxDaily is definitely an option worth considering.

Sure, it is not perfect. Vitamin B9, D, Choline, Calcium, and Magnesium are not in the most desirable shape. Then there is also a complete lack of Chromium, Boron, and Vanadium. And yeah… There are some other insignificant imperfections.

But that’s it!

In fact, beneficial substance and blend wise – Nature’s Way Alive! MaxDaily is truly a Masterpiece. These beneficial substances and blends make up totally more than for any shortcomings mentioned.

And because of these additional substances and blends, this multivitamin supplement provides you with much more benefit than a typical multivitamin supplement would.

With this multivitamin supplement not only are you getting almost all the vitamins, minerals and trace elements needed for superior health and cognitive ability… You are also getting an abundance of amino acids (which includes the 9 essential ones), dietary fiber, heart strengthening substances, digestive, brain function, and immunity improvement substances. And that is not all.

Essentially, the potential additional benefits are more than I can recap here.

    Excellent breakdown.
Why on earth are they using D2 instead of D3?

Most days I eat Dr. Greger’s “Daily Dozen”, so I need only 1/3 of a dose (2 capsules) of the Alive! Max 6.
Based on what I leaned here, I think I will cut out my separate zinc supplement.

    Thank you!

      Hey!

Thank you for the kind words, I sincerely appreciate it, Eric! Glad you enjoyed the article.

As for the vitamin D form – my thoughts exactly! D2 is the cheaper alternative, but having that D3 form instead shouldn’t increase the overall cost of the supplement that much. Well, yeah, I’ve no idea why they chose to go with D2. Hope they will change that in the future though.

Cheers, Eric, Have A Great One!

Great review thanks for the complete break down of what I would classify as a great product. I have been hunting for an all-in-one for quite some time now, however, I have yet to find the “perfect” one though.

This product seems to me like it is full spectrum, as it takes all the guess work out from what is essentially what the body needs to perform at an optimal level.

    Thanks again for your recommendation!
