Nature Made CholestOff Review – Original, Plus & Complete

Overview  |  Key Ingredients & Amounts  |  Effectiveness  |  Additives  |  Conclusions  |

In this Nature Made CholestOff Review, we’ll cover absolutely everything worth knowing about the three supplements – Nature Made CholestOff, Nature Made CholestOff Plus & Nature Made CholestOff Complete.

Therefore, in this article, we’ll take a look at every single claim linked to the use of any of the supplements. And we’ll couple that with an in-depth look at all of the ingredients, as well as the efficiency of those supplements.

Nature Made CholestOff Review – The Overview

Nature Made CholestOff are beneficial substance-oriented supplements that seek to establish healthy cholesterol levels for anyone who uses it, thus improving heart health and everything else that stems from that.

Nature Made CholestOff ReviewThe description pages of the three supplements are particularly abundant in terms of the information they provide.

They list supplement facts, product details, information on dosage, interactions, and quality. On top of that, there is also a FAQ section.

While there is a lot of different material there, it’s basically all educational. There barely are any promises as to the efficacy. There’s only info on what the beneficial substances found in the supplements can potentially do for you.

They don’t really claim that it will. Only that they can. But not necessarily will.

You can even find there some guidelines as to how much of the substances that are in the supplement, for example, National Institutes of Health recommends to take daily to achieve the cholesterol-lowering effects.

In truth, really insightful stuff.

Additionally, as with any claims made for Nature Made supplements, also these ones have the quality pledge – “Nature Made CholestOff [are] guaranteed to meet our high-quality standards – [they are] made from carefully selected ingredients under strict manufacturing processes”.

On top of that, they, of course, also have a list of “free of” claims. Among those No Synthetic Dyes, No Artificial Flavors, No Preservatives, No Yeast or Starch, Gluten Free. Supplements are also said to contain Soy.

I guess so far so good.

Let’s see what it’s really about.

Nature Made CholestOff Complete Review Nature Made CholestOff Plus Review

All CholestOffs Are Truly About Lowering Cholesterol

So there are three Nature Made CholestOff supplements – the Original one, the Complete one, and the Plus one. The ingredients of these do differ, however, the differences are very, very subtle.

Nature Made CholestOff Original Review – Ingredients And Supplement FactsNature Made CholestOff Original offers a single beneficial substance known as Plant Sterols/Stanols in amounts of 900 mg, as well as 260 mg of Calcium. This is what a single serving of the supplement contains.

The daily dose is two serving sizes. Thus, in reality, you are daily getting 1800 mg of Plant Sterols/Stanols and 520 mg of Calcium.

Nature Made CholestOff Plus Review – Ingredients (Supplement Facts)Nature Made CholestOff Plus differs in a sense that it does not offer Calcium and the Plant Sterols/Stanols are in esterified form. The amounts of this substance are said to be 900 mg.

Again, similarly as with the Original version, also for this one the daily dose consists of two serving sizes. Thus, at the end of the day, you’re getting 1800 mg of esterified Plant Sterols/Stanols.

Nature Made CholestOff Complete Review – Supplement Facts

Lastly, the Nature Made CholestOff Complete is, in essence, the absolute same supplement as the Nature Made CholestOff Complete is, however, it is coupled with one more substance.

To the blend, it also adds 300 mg of derivative from vitamin B5 (Pantethine) called Pantesin. Which seems to be a patented version of vitamin B5. As the manufacturer notes, Pantesin® helps reduce the production of LDL cholesterol in the liver (which we will look at in a bit).

Plant Sterols/Stanols are specific natural compounds that in small amounts are found in plant foods. For example, seeds, nuts, vegetable oils, fruits, legumes, grain products, and vegetables. Whereas in processed foods these are barely existent [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

There have been a lot of studies on these substances and their effects on lowering the bad cholesterol levels. And what they have found is that these really do help [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

Additionally, they can also reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, as well as help against some types of cancer and have other benefits [R, R, R, R, R, R].

Pistachios Are A Great Natural Source Of Plant Sterols And Stanols

As for the differences between the single and esterified form, while Nature Made do claim that the esterified Plant Sterols/Stanols are more effective, various studies have concluded that there seems to be no difference in their efficiency [R, R].

As for the addition of Calcium in Nature Made CholestOff Original, although it’s not directly specified, it comes in two forms – Calcium Carbonate and Tribasic Calcium Phosphate.

While the latter is definitely better than the former, you’re not really missing out on much not going with this supplement. Neither of the forms is considered among the effective for Calcium supplementation [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

Thus, there is no reason to choose the original version over any of the others because of that added mineral (this is only more the case as you’ll see when the additives are considered).

As for the addition of Pantesin in Nature Made CholestOff Complete, truly, quite a few studies have proven the efficiency of this substance in lowering cholesterol levels [R, R, R, R, R, R].

Thus, in truth, this variation of the supplement has every reason to be more effective than the rest of the two.

Will The Nature Made CholestOff Do The Trick (Work)?

In truth, there really is no reason to discuss this as the Plant Sterols/Stanols has been proven effective in many, many studies.

However, it still can be insightful in looking at the reviews people provide in regards to the efficiency of the Nature Made CholestOff supplements. For the Original one, it’s about above 80%, for the Plus and Complete one – almost 90% and above 85%, respectively.

Thus, not only do the studies confirm this but also very many people using this specific supplement has felt the benefits.

Nature Made CholestOff Shows A Pretty High Success Rate Among People

In that sense, it’s definitely worth noting, that people generally are more eager to complain about any product if it does not work or provide the anticipated benefit. Therefore, I do believe that the actual success rate might be even higher for each of the supplements.

But a question may arise – why the unsatisfied people if the efficiency has been, in essence, absolutely proven?

Well, there are many possible reasons why this could be.

One simple reason is the fact that people might be forgetting to take the damn pills, so to say. Thus, resulting in at least to some extent irregular use. However, for Plant Sterols/Stanols to work and improve Cholesterol levels, it’s paramount to use them regularly. Otherwise, none of the positive effects may occur [R, R, R, R].

I mean it’s paramount to every single supplement you’ll ever use. But it’s worth emphasizing and especially is the case for these ones.

So, set up alarms, reminders, do whatever needs to be done to remember that you have to take them.

Another possible reason might be the fact that you are not taking them twice daily with the main meals. It has shown to be the most optimal approach for this kind of supplementation [R, R, R].

Thus, taking Nature Made CholestOffs only once a day may be detrimental to any benefits. Remembering that you had to take it late in the night and taking it then or any other similar type of “supposedly quick remedy” if you forgot to take the supplement with the main meal will also mess it up.

One other aspect is that forgetting to take it completely once or twice within the period of time can also ruin any chances of a positive outcome because of the fact that too less of it also has proven to provide little to no benefits. Ideally, you should get at least 2000 mg daily [R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

For those that jump the gun and go mental because neither of the Nature Made CholestOff supplements contain 2000 mg of Plant Sterols/Stanols, don’t. Just don’t.

Generally, people consume on average 300 mg of plant sterols and 17-24 mg of plant stanols a day. As for vegetarians and vegans, they tend to on average consume twice the amount [R, R, R, R, R].

Thus, the combined amounts will surpass that 2000 mg mark.

Healthy Food Is Key If You Want To Reap The Benefits Of Nature Made CholestOff

Interestingly consuming more than 2000 mg up til 2500-3000 mg a day will have a more significant positive impact on the Cholesterol levels. However, anything more than that upper level will result in no further benefits [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

One other reason for no benefits despite using the CholestOffs brand is that a healthy eating pattern and diet must be in place. Or it might not work [R, R, R, R, R, R].

What is healthy? Well, in truth, we all know which foods we should eat and which we shouldn’t. Obviously, there is some knowledge to this as you get essentially tricked in buying something that isn’t actually healthy.

But we all have that inner voice, which knows what is healthy and what is not. Just stick with it. And if at any time in doubt just revert to all non-processed food. You can’t really go wrong with that one.

But at the end of the day, these few ideas on possible reasons should not be considered exhaustive as there are others why Plant Sterols/Stanols might not work.

Additionally, many recommend that it’s worth considering to take a Carotenoid supplement along with a Plant Sterols/Stanols supplement. This is because the latter can interfere with the absorption of the former [R, R, R].

At the end of the day, many do ask, when can the benefits be anticipated?

Studies show that it should take no more than several weeks, usually 2-4 weeks tops of sustained and continued consumption [R, R, R, R].

Additives Come With Pretty Mixed Results

Additives are crucial ingredients for making a delivery form such as capsule, tablet, lozenge, etc. possible. Thus, in essence, they are very important and play an integral role in the supplement.

Additives Are Absolutely Mandatory To Be Able To Create SupplementsHowever, not always are the substances that are used to achieve this beneficial or even harmless. Much of the time they can actually mess with your health.

So, we have to make sure they are harmless.

The additives are different among all three supplements.

Nature Made CholestOff Original has Calcium Carbonate (can be both the active ingredient for Calcium and an additive), Tribasic Calcium Phosphate (same to what applies to Calcium Carbonate), Croscarmellose Sodium, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Silicon Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate, Color Added, Polyethylene, Glycol, Triethyl Citrate, Polysorbate 80.

Or in other words, a lot.

For Nature Made CholestOff Plus we have Sunflower Oil Esters, Gelatin, Glycerin, Medium Chain Triglycerides, Soy Lecithin, Water, and Added Colors. So, not as many.

Lastly, for Nature Made CholestOff Complete there are the least additives. Sunflower Oil Esters, Gelatin, Glycerin, Medium Chain Triglycerides, Water, Soy Lecithin, Added Colors.

With the first, the problems are many, the worst of them all – Polysorbate 80.

Polysorbate 80, also known as E433, is a synthetic compound used in supplements, foods, medicine, and vaccines. In supplements supposedly it’s utilized to either help pills disperse in the stomach or improve the consistency of capsules [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

A lot of different unpleasant side effects are associated with this substance though. These include coughing, irritation, stomach pain, as well as it can quite likely cause extremely severe allergic reactions, that can come in numerous different and very violent ways. Saying that there are other serious concerns is an understatement [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

I do strongly believe that this is an additive that is a must avoid. Whenever you see it in a supplement, just don’t. DON’T.

Trust me, you won’t ever need a supplement as bad to do a tradeoff for your health with the Polysorbate 80. Only ever if the other choice is death, then this is probably better, otherwise no.

Polysorbate 80 Is Something That Is Being Put Into Vaccines

On this same note, there are also other Polysorbates out there, like Polysorbate 60 or Polysorbate 20 (E432-E436). They’re very similar. Avoid them like the plague.

Therefore, because of this substance being present in the Nature Made CholestOff Original, my view is that you shouldn’t ever buy the supplement.

Gladly, it’s much different from the rest of the two as neither of those has any Polysorbates to the blend. The only potential problems may arise with Soy Lecithin and Added Colors.

There are no doubts that Soy is of GMO in all of the Nature Made CholestOff supplements, and thus, it can bite you. However, Soy Lecithin is also known to be beneficial and due to how Lecithin is made it might not be affected that much or maybe even at all by the fact that the soy is sourced from GMOs [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

So, my guess is as good as any.

But because one can’t really be sure I would rather deem it avoidable if possible. Either way, the added colors also do contribute to this approach.

Speaking of colors, the manufacturer does indicate that they are of natural sorts. However, it’s not said what those colors exactly are. All one can really say is that there probably are more than one.

The fact that all these colors are of natural origins does not guarantee their safety or the fact that they will not cause any allergic reactions [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

Quite the contrary, at least some of them are known to be pretty violent in how they manifest themselves. Some examples are dizziness, weakness,  nausea, headaches, eye, skin, and respiratory tract irritation, or even irritable bowel syndrome, as well as there, are other variations and ways you can be affected [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

It won’t happen for every single person but the possibility is still there. I’m just letting you know.

Final Thoughts On Nature Made CholestOff Original, Plus & Complete

While all three supplements – Nature Made CholestOff Original, Nature Made CholestOff Plus, and Nature Made CholestOff Complete – is capable of providing benefits for cholesterol reduction, you shouldn’t just go with any one of these.

Due to the kind of additives it uses you should never go for Nature Made CholestOff Original. It’s just not worth it as both of the other versions are outright better than this one.

It does not, however, mean that there are no potential concerns with the rest of the two. There are.

But they are rather minor. Plus, there really are no similar supplements on the market that could benefit your cholesterol levels through Plant Sterols and Stanols the way Nature Made supplements can (at least I’m not aware of such supplements if you are please let me know in the comments).

Thus, both the Nature Made CholestOff Plus and the Nature Made CholestOff Complete are solid options to go with.

I’d myself would prefer the Nature Made CholestOff Complete as it is the more effective version due to the added Pantosin but the choice is definitely yours.

Both will make the job done.

Above all, I hope this Nature Made CholestOff review of all three CholestOff supplements helped you find the information you were looking for.

  1. Hello Matiss,

Thank you for this review, you saved me a lot of research and I really appreciate that.

I was a little confused at the part where you say there are “differences” in the ingredients between two of the versions – CholestOff Plus and Cholestoff Complete. The only difference I can find is the order of “soy lecithin” and “water”. Otherwise, the ingredients appear identical. Did I miss something?

    Thanks again for this information.

    Stay safe, stay well.

  2. Matiss,
Thank you for your research. High cholesterol seems to run in my family and I am trying to avoid medication. As others have pointed out, supplements and medications don’t always work the same for each person so I approached Cholestoff Plus with a “we will see” attitude.
I have been taking it for about a year so far and at my last checkup, my cholesterol numbers had come down even without fasting before the checkup.
So far it seems to working for me. Hope this helps.
    Thanks again,
    Mark

  3. Hi,

Thank you very much for introducing natural health supplement as Nature Made CholestOff. After I studied this, I found that the supplement is very useful for an adult. Ingredients like Croscarmellose Sodium, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Magnesium Stearate are much beneficial for our body. So I think we should take Nature Made CholestOff to maintain the balance of these ingredients in the body.

  4. I know for a fact that Nature Made claims on CholestOff as clinically proven to reduce cholesterol has not been evaluated by the FDA. But, from the testimonials gathered from consumers, they generally praise these products that is why these are recognized on the US National Library of Medicine. Thank you for giving CholestOff a very good review.

On a personal account, I just wanna know if it is safe or is there risk involved in jumping to CholestOff Complete even if you’ve already consumed CholestOff Plus for months already? I once read a downside of the product that it lowers men’s libido and causes erectile dysfunction. Has it been proven?

    • Hey, Jean!

Yes, that is absolutely true. These have not been evaluated by the FDA. But then again I might be wrong but I believe if I remember correctly they don’t do that for supplements either way. In this regard, it’s hard to, however, dismiss the clinical trials on the active ingredients in the supplements and their efficacy.
Thank you for your kind words.

Switching between those should not involve any additional risks.
About that libido thing and erectile dysfunction I’ll have to look into that. I definitely read something about that when I did the research. But I can’t pinpoint exactly what it was at this time. I’ll definitely update this comment and the review as well when and if I’ll become aware of such things.

Thank you for the awesome questions though. :)

Cheers, and have a Wonderful Day!

I have heard so much of the supplements Nature Made Cholest Off, Nature Made Cholest Plus, and Nature Made cholest Complete, its role in helping to lower bad cholesterol level and the risk of heart disease. I understand the points you made as possibly the reasons some people might not see any difference in their health even with the supplements. 7. Thank you very much for the detailed review on the supplement Nature Made CholestOFF.

I am new to this since my husband was presented by his doctor that his cholesterol levels are a bit out of sync, and he needs to take something to balance it out. He refused to any prescription drugs and therefore I am searching for a supplement to help promote healthier cholesterol levels in conjunction with a healthier diet.

I have come along this product before but got confused why there are three of them and what is really the difference between them.

I have read your article thoroughly and I do appreciate everything you have written and it has made it easier for me to make an informed decision, which supplement my husband can use.

I have saved your site for further reference.

  9. Hi Matiss, your review on Cholesoff is great. I have often wondered why there are some negative and positive view of some particular products. In this your review, you made mention of why some people might be unsatisfied with the intake of the supplement. The answer is really great. Often times we don’t take pills the way they should be taken, thereby making efficacy of the drug to be useless.

Users of this supplement will be excited to see what is actually required of them to do in order to see results, especially setting up alarms or reminders because fatigue can even make one to sleep off and forget taking the pills.

Thanks for an informative review of Cholestoff supplement.
