TruNature Advanced Digestive Probiotic Review – A Success?

Marketing  |  Ingredients  |  Additives  |  Reviews  |  Pricing  |  Overall  |

In this TruNature Advanced Digestive Probiotic review, we will go deep and get to the bottom of everything that this particular supplement has to offer.

The idea is to start off with a little baseline on what the manufacturer itself is saying about the supplement. Then, it will be about looking at all of the beneficial ingredients. Then, we’ll dissect additives. Then, it will be about the success rates and customer reviews. Lastly, we will turn our sights to pricing as well. I mean, everything to make it as comprehensive as possible.

This TruNature Advanced Digestive Probiotic Review To Explore It In Detail

What I typically love to do with this section is look at what the manufacturer is saying about its supplement and what marketing tactics are being used to persuade people to buy. As for the supplement of this review, I was not able to access its product page likely due to the GDPR. Hence, for this section, we’ll have to do with what we can find written on the supplement’s label [R].

TruNature Advanced Digestive Probiotic ReviewAccording to it, TruNature Advanced Digestive Probiotic features Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium lactis, safe and effective Probiotic strains proven to support digestive and immune health. Per its stated, their formula also contains XOS, better known as Prebiotics which contribute to digestive health.

To that end, the supplement is promised to naturally restore the digestive balances and promote a healthy immune system. It’s also said to help restore the natural balance in our intestinal tract and improve a general feeling of well-being.

Other than that, the supplement is claimed to be Gluten-Free, Soy-Free, and Dairy-Free. It does not, however, say to be Non-GMO which is arguably the most important free-of claim.

One interesting thing about the TruNature Advanced Digestive Probiotic is that it is a supplement third-party tested for purity and potency by the USP. And that’s definitely something that can’t be said about supplements like the Dr. Mercola Probiotics (review) and Align Probiotic (review). But is that enough to say that it’s a worthwhile one?

To Review Ingredients, The Supplement Has Improved A Lot

The TruNature Probiotics used to be a three-strain mix offering not the greatest total CFU amount (recommended daily) while also not offering any additional beneficial substances such as Prebiotics. But that is no longer its story. Now, it feels entirely different. It feels no longer like an average attempt at what a Probiotic supplement should be. Now, it seems to be a robust one.

So, per serving (one capsule), the Advanced Digestive supplement offers 94 milligrams or 10 Billion CFU of a Probiotic Blend alongside 50 milligrams of XOS or Xylooligosaccharides. The Probiotic Blend builds on the three core ones of its older version (Lactobacillus Acidophilus, Bifidobacterium lactis, and L. Rhamnosus GG). These are now accompanied by Lactobacillus paracasei, Bifidobacterium infantis, Lactobacillus salivarius, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus reuteri, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus plantarum, and Bifidobacterium breve.

TruNature Advanced Digestive Probiotic Ingredients (Supplement Facts)But what does it all really mean?

As far as the total CFU amount goes, 10 Billion CFU is a really good amount per capsule. However, despite the TruNature’s recommendation to take one capsule daily, we typically should go for at least two if we want to stick to what are considered the best practices for nutrient amounts. Those recommend having at least 10 Billion CFU twice daily. Hence, two capsules of the Advanced Digestive Probiotic, instead of one [RRRRRRR]

And if that is the case, then the supplement has every reason to live up to what it claims are its benefits. Or, to simply remind that, to promote digestive health, augment immune system’s capacity, better balance intestinal tract, and encourage general well-being. Whereas if it’s just one, then the gains will likely be limited [R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

But there are more gains that are possible, too. Because basically every strain of Probiotics bring their unique set of them. To that end, here’s a little bit of the potential and information in general on some of the most prominent ones within the Probiotic Blend.

Lactobacillus Acidophilus is one of the most common types of probiotics that can be found not only in supplements, fermented foods, and yogurt but also in the human body. It is quite an extensively studied probiotic, which has proven to have the potential to benefit your health in numerous ways [RRRR].

For example, Lactobacillus Acidophilus is known to prevent and reduce diarrhea, bloating, and cramps, promote weight loss, prevent and reduce cold and flu symptoms, reduce cholesterol, improve the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, has other benefits and above all it just generally improves gut health [RRRR].

Bifidobacterium Lactis is a very powerful transient Probiotic bacteria that is found in many mammals, including humans. In its very essence, it is also amazing in terms of the benefits that it provides. This Probiotic has been proven to enhance immunity, improve digestion, aid the absorption of various vitamins and minerals, lower cholesterol, combat obesity, and diabetes, alleviate inflammation and allergies, and even fight tumor growth [RRRR].

Whereas Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG is a probiotic bacteria that is a part of the normal gut microflora in humans. And thus, as of itself, it is pretty common both in supplements and in various foods. this probiotic is known to alleviate dermatitis, and asthma, combat allergies, obesity, and diabetes, as well as depression, anxiety, and OCD, reduce the duration of gastrointestinal infections and diarrhea, promote weight loss, prevent cancer, improve the immune system’s function, and among other benefits just improve gut health overall [RRRRRR].

Xylooligosaccharides Are Naturally Present In HoneyAlso, I like the fact that the supplement of this review now offers 12 different strains. That I believe is the preferred way, namely, to have them be as diverse as possible while being of at least 10 different ones [R, RRR].

Another great thing about the TruNature is, in essence, what supplements like the Nutrition Essentials Probiotic (review) and New Chapter Probiotic All-Flora (review) also bring to the table. It’s this notion of Prebiotics (XOS).

While I would say that just 50 milligrams are probably not the most abundant option, it’s certainly better than none. And Prebiotics are just in general known to help get the best of Probiotics through improving the gains as far as digestive health go, as well as bring a plethora of others [RRRRRRRRRRRRRR].

One thing that I don’t like about the TruNature Advanced Digestive Probiotic is that it doesn’t specify the amount of each strain present. And that’s a negative given that it can, in reality, be a one or two-strain show while claiming to be one of 12. Not to say that is the case here but it can be. And that’s my point.

That said, I do love the USP certification that the supplement of this review also brings. And I did check for it on the official USP list. It’s there. Hence, this Probiotic is what it actually claims to be, namely, of proper purity, potency, and safety [R].

Additives Are Still The Same Old Suboptimal Four

There is, however, one aspect that a USP certification does not protect us from. It’s the aspect of inherently bad additives. Meaning, additives that within themselves no matter how “pure,” potent,” or “safe” can actually be very harmful. Because being “pure” or what is understood as “safe” in the context of third-party testing does not ensure that every ingredient as of itself is fine to consume.

Titanium Dioxide Is Fairly Common With Sweets

For example, no amount of third-party testing will ever make GMO Soybean Oil a healthy or harmless substance. It just doesn’t work that way [RRRRRR, R].

So, are there any dangers with the TruNature Advanced Digestive Probiotic’s additives?

The supplement uses four different additives. It’s got Cellulose, Silicon Dioxide, Vegetable Magnesium Stearate, and Titanium Dioxide. Of these, the first three are okay to do. Whereas the very last one is not so much [RRRRR].

In truth, Titanium Dioxide used to be one of the most harmless and natural additives out there. Not anymore [R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

Quite recently the food industry has come up with this revolutionary idea to made Titanium Dioxide of nanoparticles because this way it makes the white color of the tablet, capsule, food, or anything else that it gets added to more appealing to the eye [R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

Sadly, this is not without health implications as these nanoparticles are recognized to be too small for our guts to filter. Thus, resulting in all kinds of nasty potential side-effects in the long-term, like lung damage, brain damage, etc. I mean, it is clear as day that they should have best gone without that stuff [R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R].

A Pretty Great Success Rate As Far As Customer Reviews Go

Now, all of the ingredient aspects out of the way, let us look at some of the practical ones. To that end, it has to be reminded that TruNature is a brand of Costco. Hence, despite Costco having quite an abundant customer review section, it won’t work for us in the assessment of TruNature Advanced Digestive Probiotic reviews and the global success rates. This is because manufacturers have the ability to easily adjust, edit, and delete customer feedback that doesn’t align with their marketing strategy.

TruNature Advanced Digestive Probiotic ReviewsAnd that is, indeed, often the case given how unnaturally positive the commentary is within manufacturers-controlled sections. Something like the Smidge Sensitive (GutPro) Probiotic (review) and ActivatedYou Morning Complete (review) are obvious examples of this.

So, I did what I always do. I went to research every single third-party seller and retailer for reviews on our TruNature supplement.

In total, I managed to find 538 TruNature Advanced Digestive Probiotic reviews. Of these, 489 were positive (three-star, four-star, five-star) and 49 were negative (one-star, two-star). Hence, we’re looking at a global success rate of 90.9%. Which is a pretty fine success percentage.

Moreover, people typically report negative experiences far more often than positive ones. Thus, the actual success rate is likely even higher than that. And so, there definitely are a lot of people who swear by it, some even go as far as to say that this is the best Probiotic out there.

But what about those people that did not enjoy it? What was the problem there?

For quite a few, the TruNature had the opposite effect of what it was supposed to do, namely, they experienced bloating, gut pain, or heartburn from it, had headaches due to it or just felt really sick after taking it. Then, for some, it literally did nothing. For others, they got 80 capsules, instead of 100 as supposed to. Whereas some concluded that this is the worst Probiotic they have ever taken. Then, others were unhappy with getting it very close to the expiry date. Also, there were some who complained about the cost.

So, yes, while for many, the TruNature Probiotics have been a decent or great success, there certainly are people who did not get anything positive out of it.

In Terms Of Pricing, Costco’s TruNature Feels Quite Okay, Or Does It?

As far as pricing for the TruNature Advanced Digestive Probiotic goes, it is actually quite interesting. While I did manage to find certain people that were really happy about the cost of this supplement, some others thought that this is not a well-priced one. So, which one is it?

It Actually Is Not Expensive For A ProbioticPer box of 100 capsules, the Probiotic typically costs $21.20. That’s 21.2 cents per every serving. That’s 21.2 cents per every capsule. And that’s 21.2 cents per every 10 Billion CFU. So, how does it compare to other Pro-bacteria-supplements on the market?

Compare it to something like the Natren Healthy Trinity (review) and price-wise it actually looks very good. The Natren option typically costs $69.95 per container of 30 capsules. Each capsule brings 30 Billion CFU. Which means that it’s 77.7 cents for every 10 Billion CFU. Which is more than three times what the supplement of this review costs.

Natren has only three strains, instead of 12. Natren doesn’t have added Prebiotics. But it is very specific about each strain and how much it brings to the table. It also is third-party tested. And most importantly, Natren uses only harmless additives. So, personally, I would prefer it over the TruNature option despite the rather huge difference in price.

But what genuinely knocks the Advanced Digestive Probiotic out of the park is the Live Conscious Pro-45 (review) option. Not only does it add a better and a patented form of Prebiotics, it also adds a patented Probiotic strain. Plus, it’s very transparent about how much of each strain it contains within its 10+ strain blend.

And then, Live Conscious is also third-party tested and uses only fully harmless additives. And unlike Natren’s 77.7 cents per every 10 Billion CFU, Live Conscious is typically 19.4 cents.

In other words, there are options not only better as far as quality and contents, but also price.

I Would Not Buy The Advanced Digestive Probiotic, Do Prefer To Avoid It

I think it’s fair to say that the TruNature Advanced Digestive Probiotic has improved a lot. From the beneficial ingredient standpoint, it used to be this very average attempt at what a Probiotic should be. Now, it actually brings plenty of quality stuff while also being third-party tested by the USP.

I Would Highly Recommend To Avoid This Probiotic SupplementWhat is sad to see, however, is that they did not see fit to improve the additive composition as well. I do not agree with consuming Titanium Dioxide with either our foods, medicine, or supplements due to the very high chance (and they do not state otherwise) of it being of nanoparticle material. And that’s bad.

The way I see it and what the research suggests, it can lead to a plethora of various adverse effects that although might not be immediately noticeable but will affect us sooner or later nonetheless.

And so, yes, some people would likely overlook that and list the product of this review among the Probiotics supplements to consider or even shortlist. However, (out of avoid it, consider it, shortlist it, buy it) I would categorize it as an avoidable one.

I mean, there is absolutely no need to expose ourselves to potentially harmful additives when there are clearly much better alternatives than the TruNature Probiotics out there. It just makes no sense to me. So, to that end, one such example is definitely the Live Conscious Pro-45 (full review).

Above all, I hope this TruNature Advanced Digestive Probiotic review helped you find the information you were looking for. What are your thoughts on it? Would you still consider it as an option? Do you know anyone who has taken it? What was their experience with it? Let me know below. Also, feel free to leave your own personal reviews on the product.

  1. Hello, I just purchased TruNature Advanced Digestive Probiotic from Costco because of the Probiotic Blend not realizing about the titanium dioxide. I typically use Align Probiotic but in comparing the cost I thought this was the way to go. Does the Align Probiotic contain titanium dioxide? Please let me know what probiotic out there that doesn’t contain this harmful ingredient. Thank you very much for your insightful post.

Sorry for taking so long to respond. I’ve been way too overwhelmed at my day job.

I actually do have a full-on review on the Align Probiotic as well. You can find it here.

As far as great Probiotics go, I will have to recheck how the Live Conscious Pro-45 is doing since it was downsized in terms of ingredient quality. So, I rechecked it, it’s been upsized to what it largely previously was to regain some of its glory. To that end, I think that it is again a very, very good choice (full review).

But for the sake of diversity and choice, the Gives Health Wholesome Probiotics (review) is another great. Probably the best one out there currently.

  2. You have really put together a thorough review here and I applaud you. There are so many probiotics out there now, you are never quite sure which are the goods ones worth buying.

I liked that you described what additives were in this product and I was also surprised to read that Titanium Dioxide is not good for you as this additive is in many products out there.

I haven’t tried this product but maybe will think twice before I do after reading this.

  3. I must say that this article is very helpful and informative. Honestly, I’ve heard good things about the TruNature Probiotic but I was skeptical from the beginning. My mom wants to buy this as she wants to improve digestion but I will talk with her about this. I agree with you that we should avoid it as it contains titanium dioxide.

  4. Wow! I have come to recently realize that not all that glitters is gold. There is always this hype about the wonders of supplements. These supplements do offer some relief to some health issues, but on a closer examination, one notices that its adverse effect is enough to cause more harm than good.

In the case of the TruNature Digestive Probiotic supplement, that’s definitely the case.

Yeah, I absolutely agree. It looks good if we consider just the marketing materials. It’s not so great if we dig deeper.
I think more harm than good is actually the story of many supplements (and medicine, too).

  5. At first it sounded like TruNature Digestive Probiotic supplement is the king of all digestive Probiotic supplements. And I was like, all other digestive Probiotic products, should come bow to it and learn it’s ways.
Unfortunately, you rounded off with a strong warning to stay away from it, because of the fact that it contains loads of Titanium Dioxide, which is harmful to the general well being of the body.
I must confess, that I didn’t see that blow coming, but I’m thankful for the warning.

  6. Hi.

I usually prefer to read blogs where the blogger has credibility when it comes to honest reviews and product ratings. From this particular article and the other ones I’ve encountered before, I can vouch for every bit of information on them because I know it is correct and accurate. I really enjoy your breakdowns.

Also, speaking about TruNature Advanced Digestive Probiotic itself, I have read other similar reviews on this product. And I can say, for sure, that yours is the most thorough one.

  7. Hello Matiss,

Whenever I see an article writing about probiotics I just drop myself into it. That is because I have a stomach and weak intestine problems. I used to eat fermented foods, yogurt and drink lots of water. Sometimes I search for probiotic supplements which could be helpful without any side effects. It’s hard to find one even if someone says that the product has no side effects. Well, thanks for your recommendation to avoid this product.

    Regards,

  8. Thanks for sharing this review on Trunature Advanced Digestive Probiotic. This article is really informative and an eye-opener. Actually, I have been trying to get to know more about this particular supplement, and I didn’t really find any luck in that regard until your article came along. Overall, I think the disadvantage of Trunature Digestive Probiotic is greater than the advantage it provides to human health. I agree with you that this supplement shouldn’t be taken much or even at all as it poses a danger to lung and brain damage. Thanks for this really insightful piece of writing.

Yes, I do agree with that violently. Indeed, we shouldn’t ever. I mean, there are just so many quality Probiotics (even third-party tested ones) with which we don’t have to deal with substances like the Titanium Dioxide.

I’m really glad it proved to be insightful. And I deeply appreciate the kind words.

    • Hey, Kathy!

Generally speaking, I would say that it’s fine to do supplements even with bad additives for short period of time (a month tops, maybe two). If you’re otherwise healthy it should cause too much or any trouble at all. Personally, however, I don’t think there’s that luxury with nanoparticle Titanium Dioxide.

I mean, sure, the supplement could potentially not contain that, there’s always that chance. But being one of the most produced nano compounds these days, I wouldn’t count on that. Plus, I’ve seen supplements that specify that their Titanium Dioxide is not of nanoparticles. This one doesn’t. So, it’s really a proper gamble.

And I wouldn’t play that. Other people would, I wouldn’t. Also, there’s like a 100 capsules with this one, right? That’s like a supply of upwards of 3 months. That’s a lot.

The way I see it, I would probably check if they have a money-back guarantee and then just return it. If not, it’s probably safer to just cut the losses, instead of later dealing with the potential consequences (which may or may not manifest). But that’s your call entirely.

Do what feels right for you.

      Cheers,
      Matiss

  10. Thank you for sharing this honest review on TruNature digestive Probiotic. I was all about how TruNature helps people with irritable bowel syndrome, reduces flu symptoms and cholesterol. But then you said that the supplements lack the recommended daily amount of certain necessary beneficial. And that TruNature contains four additives that could be helpful if taken for long periods of time, with Titanium Dioxide being the worst.>>I believe the maker of TruNature Digestive Probiotics need to reconsider how they research and manufacture the product. As you stated and hinted in your post, other probiotic supplements offer the digestive system better benefits without negative side effects.

  11. Lactobacillus Acidophilus as an important part of the supplement, with a lot of advantages aiding in the activities of several other bacteria’s. As one of about millions of users of diarrhea-stopping drugs/supplements, I believed its high time supplements are favored over chemical drugs. I recommend this article for a wide variety of readers, although the supplement might not be the greatest one.
